What are your opinions on unusual spelling?

i know a lot of people adore unusual spelling of names.
I must say that i'm not very keen on them myself.
A good friend of mine is named An, she hates it. She grew up never having her name on customised collectables E.g. name tags or anything that has peoples names on them. Remember as a child when you would get a keyring from the aquariam with your name on it.
i would just like to know your opinions on them.

I think there are a few names that look alright with alternative/unusual spellings, but on the whole I think they tend to be bad. I've noticed though that it's more modern names spelt differently that bug me, like all the different spellings of names like Payton, Ashley, Jaden, etc. Then again, I don't like those names, so what does it matter?
